Home sickness is real and you just can’t help but crave nostalgia. Some are able to relieve their sense of being home via old photos, talking to love ones, but I believe food connects us from home even closer. I loved ordering from local aunties and friends for kakanin, cakes and other filipino foods. Still, although the food I ordered tasted amazing I found myself still looking for alternatives as nostalgia I craved was not satisfied.
The COVID19 lockdown had me stoped from ordering from local sources that are made from home for safety. In addition from that it created unstable income. Being homesick and stranded at home, I started to create deserts from my own kitchen. I asked mom what she thinks as she is my mentor, I share my sweets among friends and ask for their feedbacks. I created my own recipes that satisfied nostalgia. I realized I can sell these products and I started selling among friends and family. Soon enough, referrals from them helped stream extra income.
At As sweet as me, our goal is to be part of your sweet moments. To create beautiful treats for beautiful days.
I have learned over the years to incorporate filipino taste with western creations.
One of our favourites , ube cake pops, ube cupcakes, crinkles and buck pandas desert cups.
I hope to share with you a slice of tradition, love and big bite of nostalgia.
My goal is to share with you the sense of joy and nostalgia with every bite. The kind of nostalgia that brings you home during festivities, a visit to friends, a sweet delight you used to enjoy on the streets.
